2023 Holiday Food Drive

Dear neighbors,

We are excited to extend an invitation to your community group, school, or corporate team to participate in our upcoming food drive. Your involvement can make a substantial impact, not only by assisting the One Richmond Community Market but also by supporting The Richmond Neighborhood Center's many food programs.

By contributing non-perishable food items, you'll be helping us stock the pantries of our community members, ensuring they have access to essential supplies for the winter ahead. Additionally, your donations will directly support The Richmond Neighborhood Center's vital food programs, further strengthening our community's food security initiatives.

Every can, box, or package donated brings us closer to fostering a sense of togetherness and support within our neighborhood. If your group is interested in participating or if you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch. Your support is invaluable, and we appreciate your consideration in making a positive difference in the lives of our community members and supporting The Richmond Neighborhood Center's essential programs.

How You Can Help: Donate healthy choices: Please check that food is not expired or past the best before date. No glass containers please.

Spread the Word: Encourage your school, friends, family, and colleagues to participate before December 15.

Photo of two people at a table drawing each other.

Thurs Oct. 19th

🍁🎨🎼 Join us Thursday, Oct. 19th for Clement Street ArtWalk from 4pm - 7pm!

One Richmond will host a Draw Together Portrait activity for Richmond District neighbors and visitors!

DrawTogether Strangers is a global portrait project connecting strangers through the simple act of looking and drawing, two people at a time.

Not only are these unexpected portraits fun and magical and silly. These drawings are evidence of you slowing down and paying close, unbroken attention to each other for 60 seconds. When do we ever do that? NEVER. Especially not with strangers. And you let a stranger look at you

The ArtWalk goes from Arguello, west down Clement Street. Presented by the CSMA Clement Street Merchants Association

2. What challenges do you anticipate with new housing in your neighborhood?

3. How can the City and community best accommodate new housing in the area?

Halloween Open House Party 31/10/21

We celebrated Halloween and the re-opening of the One Richmond office with games, activities, treats and giveaways for Richmond locals. It was great to see our neighbors after 20 months of closure due to the pandemic and renovations.

Richmond playground Community Meeting

SF Recreation and Parks Department and the SF Parks Alliance held a community meeting at One Richmond to get feedback on the renovations for the Richmond Playground on 18th Ave. They want neighborhood input on the proposed new designs to make sure everyone gets a say! This is an exciting project and will hopefully make the Richmond Playground more engaging and interactive for everyone!

4th Friday - Sylvia vientulis

For the February addition of 4th Friday, One Richmond hosted local artist Sylvia Vientulis! We had a lively opening reception featuring her prints, porcelain, etchings, jewelry, large wall pieces and cards. Her collection is inspired by San Francisco and her travels around the world! Check out more of her work, or schedule a visit to her studio, at Monkey Print.

Small Business Forum

Thank you to San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) and Supervisor Sandra Fewer’s office for holding a small business forum at the One Richmond office in February! This was an informative event to help people who want to open a small business in the Richmond and support existing small businesses. It was a full house at the One Richmond office and it was great getting to hear from small business owners, Supervisor Fewer, and OEWD staff!

San Francisco SchoolHouse Visit

A group of awesome students from the San Francisco Schoolhouse stopped by The Richmond Neighborhood Center and One Richmond to talk about community and the four pillars of the One Richmond pledge. The students had a meaningful discussion with staff about what taking care of the Richmond and their community means for them. Students also got to adventure down Balboa St to eat and shop at local restaurants, they helped volunteer preparing the food pantry, and finished the day by picking up trash along the Presidio Greenbelt. They did a great job engaging with community and learned what it means to do a One Richmond thing.

D1 Leaders in action

In January our awesome District 1 Youth Leaders held a workshop at 802 Clement and learned about ways to build and strengthen community among our Richmond District residents. These talented D1 youth leaders are passionate about community involvement and we can’t wait to see what other exciting projects they have in store for the rest of their fellowship!
