CELEBRATE BEST BUDDIES MONTH BY REGISTERING FOR THE FRIENDSHIP WALK!
There are many ways to celebrate Best Buddies Month, starting with registering for the Friendship Walk! The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the number one walk in the country raising awareness and funds to support individuals with IDD. The Friendship Walk plays a key role in funding the Best Buddies programs dedicated to one-to-one friendships, leadership development, and integrated job opportunities for people with IDD. In 2021, Best Buddies California fostered 2000 friendships, opened 6 new school chapters and impacted 49 schools in the Bay Area, and supported 70 Bay Area Jobs Program participants. This is an ideal opportunity for your chapter to be involved in an event that impacts the local community in many positive ways.

Register for the Friendship Walk and create your team
It will make our day if you register, create a team to represent One Richmond, recruit folks in your network to join the team, and join us for the Friendship Walk! It will be an IN-PERSON event on Saturday, April 23rd at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. This is our first in-person event since 2019, and you won’t want to miss it! Earn your event T-shirt
There is no fundraising commitment, but when you raise $50, you’ll receive your 2022 Participant T-shirt that you can proudly wear to show your support of Best Buddies. Of course, you'll want to wear it on event day, but be sure to start wearing it as soon as you receive it!

Sign up to volunteer at the event
There are a number of ways that the folks in your organization can help out at the Friendship Walk: help set up the Festival of Friendship at the Band Shell in the Music Concourse, cheer on the walkers along the route, attend attractions at the Festival of Friendship, or help with breakdown and cleanup. If you are interested in volunteering at the event, visit the Best Buddies Friendship Walk page, scroll down and click on the Volunteer button to register your group to volunteer.
Spread the word: Inclusion
Here's one more suggestion for celebrating Best Buddies Month. There are so many ways to spread inclusion. Choose yours. Join us to make inclusion a reality for all people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.
