GWHS Beacon Dance Club

The Beacon Dance Club is more than just a club. This is where young dancers get the opportunity to learn different skill sets of dance and choreography while dancing with their other peers as a team. The Beacon Dance Club members showcase what proficient dancers they have grown to be since the start of the school semester and continue to grow their confidence with the art of dance and themselves. Growing is the key to becoming a better dancer and anything you want to do in life and these students are always ready to take on new challenges in order to be the best versions of themselves.

Put butts in their place with RefuseRefuse

One of our biggest challenges in keeping streets and neighborhoods clean are cigarette butts. They are seemingly infinite, which is surprising to many who have the perception that few people in San Francisco smoke anymore. Help make colorful β€œbutt cans” with the RefuseRefuse team and sign up for a neighborhood clean up.

🌞 Fleetwood SF - We believe in keeping the local economy...well...local. Supporting local and small businesses allows money to be put directly back into the local community, allowing all of us to reap the benefits. As residents and business owners, we are so thrilled to be a part of the wonderful Richmond community.

🌞 The Wishing Well - The Wishing Well promotes creative expression in any way it manifests and hopes to push people of all generations to make things that make them happy!

🌞 The Ponnery - Food serves as a way to pass down traditions and family stories, even if there are language barriers. In particular, food can hold memories that remind us of our childhood, loved ones, and special times in our lives. I create designs that celebrate and are inspired by Asian American food and culture to connect present and future generations. By sparking conversations centered on both shared cultural heritage and individual lived experiences, I hope to encourage cultural pride and foster a sense of community for all generations.

🌞 Daily Marizaki

🌞 Pink Pantry

🌞InsideoutJeans - Handmade Cards

🌞Painted Rocks By Kai

🌞The Sunshine Express :) - I think it's super important to help the younger generations understand themselves without the use of alcohol/drugs so they have more emotional awareness and presence in their lives :)

🌞Dylan’s Shirts

🌞Linda Fries Art - I have always been interested and active in our Richmond district community. I am the founder of the Richmond (District) Neighborhood Center in 1980, (formerly known as the Lucinda Weeks School). Community, diversity and the arts have always been my passions!

🌞 Garden Party - I am a long time volunteer at The Richmond neighborhood center, currently with the senior home delivered groceries program. I think it's essential that members of our community care for one another across generations, ages, and beyond.

🌞 Deng Pigments - hand held microscopy

🌞Hot Bun

🌞 Yay! It's Vica

🌞 Science Sara

🌞 CeraMics - I try to inspire others with my ceramics and have gotten my teenage daughter and her classmates interested in taking ceramics classes. I feel that this festival is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the creative talent of the Richmond district.

🌞 Tea & Vessel - Inner Richmond is my favorite neighborhood and I want to see it thrive and contribute to it culturally. I depend on New May Wah for most groceries and a lot of small businesses in the area - green apple, good luck dim sum, Sunday farmer's market, and Richmond Clay House the ceramics studio I go to practice.

🌞 Art time with Christen Alqueza - Having taught art to people of all ages, I am a fierce advocate of doing art for art's sake, no matter the skill level or audience. I believe in creative expression as the *best* possible way of not only learning new things and processing complex emotions, but also building lasting bridges across any divide, including the ones we see here in our neighborhood (eg. language, age, etc.).

🌞 Meeshes Pieces - I have been a practicing ceramic artist for the past four years in San Francisco. I have always deeply appreciated being able to build connections with artists through the studios I have practiced at. Since moving to the Richmond, I have met so many amazing artists through my studio, Richmond Clay House. I hope to continue to build connections and community with fellow Richmond creators and residents through participating in the Growing Together festival. I am so excited by the opportunity to meet other artists and creators of all ages and backgrounds at this festival!

🌞 Draw with Jasmine - Free drawing club with second grader Jasmine G. Started during the pandemic when friends could not play together and distance learning became the new normal. Jasmine started a drawing club on Zoom to entertain her peers. Join us for a special β€œin-person” drawing club at the Growing Together Festival. Open to all ages! Bring your own sketchbook and drawing materials. Some supplies will be available on the day.

🌞 Little Trees SF - Informative Workshop sharing and showcasing our love for plants.
