  • Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense is a national non-profit organization that is dedicated to preventing gun violence in our communities. The organization was formed in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, and has since grown to become a leading voice in the movement for gun safety. Moms Demand Action seeks to promote sensible gun laws and policies, while also educating the public on the importance of responsible gun ownership and safe storage. They are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our city by cleaning up litter and reducing waste. The organization's mission is to promote responsible waste management practices and to encourage individuals and communities to take action to reduce their impact on the environment. RefuseRefuse volunteers organize clean-up events throughout San Francisco, working to remove litter and debris from streets, parks, and other public spaces. At One Richmond's Summer Health and Safety event, RefuseRefuse will be leading a "butt can" decorating activity, which aims to encourage smokers to dispose of their cigarette butts responsibly.
