Volunteer at
One Richmond Community Market on Wednesdays

Event Address: 802 Clement Street, SF (next door to Hamburger Haven)
Help set up the community market produce for low income neighbors. Volunteers who can speak Cantonese or Mandarin are needed too.

Demographic: Seniors

What: Help disabled adults and older seniors receive fresh groceries weekly! This is an important program that provides food and company to an isolated population.

Bilingual Volunteers needed in The Richmond

Volunteer to deliver groceries to Chinese and Russian seniors in our community.


Organization: The Richmond Neighborhood Center

Where:
Mondays
- George Peabody ES (school yard, 7th Ave between Clement and California)
Tuesdays - Lafayette ES (school yard, 36th Ave between Clement and California)
Thursdays - The Richmond Neighborhood Center (741 30th Ave)
Fridays - The Richmond Neighborhood Center (741 30th Ave)

When:
Mondays 1:00-3:00pm or 3:00-5:00pm
Tuesdays: 1:00-3:00pm or 3:00-5:00pm
Thursdays: 12:30-2:30pm or 2:30-4:30pm
Friday mornings

What: The Richmond Neighborhood Center serves over 1,000 Richmond district neighbors week with access to free, critical food resources. Volunteers will help to set up our food programs, pack grocery bags, and/or serve food to participants who attend our food pantries in person.

Organization: RefuseRefuse

Demographic: Neighbors and groups wanting to take pride in their neighborhood.

What: They are seeking volunteers to help keep The Richmond and surrounds clean. There are clean up events throughout the year.

Organization: The Richmond Senior Center

Demographic: Seniors and adults with disabilities in need of food security, wellness calls and community help.

What: Friendly callers: Need 5-7 bi-lingual volunteers who speak either Cantonese, Mandarin or other Chinese dialects who will make several social calls a week (flexible days and times) that are an average of 10-15 minutes to check in on seniors in the Richmond District.

Administrative Assistants: organize and compile notes from our Friendly Caller program into a document. Bi-lingual with ability to write and speak either Cantonese or Mandarin and able to type notes and email documents to Friendly Caller Coordinator.

What: The State of California is working to identify the highest priority volunteer needs to help communities responding to COVID-19. They are partnering with state agencies, local governments, and nonprofits throughout the state who have unmet volunteer needs.

What: Donate or sign up for assistance! The Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund provides temporary assistance to help people living in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties.

What: Many warehouse volunteers have cancelled and SF Marin food bank needs healthy people to package bulk foods, assembly grocery boxes for seniors, and sort donations from food drives.

What: Institute on Aging’s 24-hour toll-free Friendship Line is a great, no risk way to support seniors during this health crisis!
