January 08, 2025 by One Richmond

San Francisco, CA — We are excited to announce that Cliff Yee will be the Grand Marshal for this year’s Richmond District Lunar New Year Parade! Cliff’s deep roots in the Richmond District and his unwavering dedication to our community make him the perfect leader for this special occasion

As Board President of The Richmond Neighborhood Center, Cliff has played a critical role in supporting programs that uplift youth, families, and seniors throughout our neighborhood. His leadership has expanded vital services promoting equity, education, and well-being for all Richmond District residents. Cliff’s involvement with the San Francisco Parent Coalition also highlights his passion for advocating for parents and students across the city, ensuring their voices are heard during critical moments of decision-making.

As part of the celebration, each block along the parade route will feature special decorations and themes that highlight different aspects of the Lunar New Year:

  • 35th-36th Ave: Family Nest (家庭幸福) – Celebrate the warmth of family and togetherness with decorations that honor the importance of home and harmony.

  • 36th-37th Ave: Health Harbor (康泰如意) – A tribute to well-being and good health, this block will feature symbols of longevity and vitality for the new year.

  • 37th-38th Ave: Love Square (情满街心) – Step into a world filled with love and joy as this block highlights the importance of relationships, friendship, and compassion.

  • 38th-39th Ave: Wealth Gateway (富贵吉祥) – Begin your journey through the parade route at this lucky gateway, where prosperity and fortune are celebrated with vibrant displays and wishes for a successful year ahead.

We invite the entire Richmond District community and beyond to come out and celebrate with us. Join us for the Lunar Bazaar from 3:30-5:30 PM, followed by the Lunar New Year Parade at 5:30 PM, where Cliff Yee will proudly lead the festivities as our Grand Marshal.
